No, seriously ! That’s what Samsung, or for that matter, its ad agency supposes the viewers to think.

The subject in question, is the advertisement of Samsung’s Slik mobile phone.
Here’s the scenario: A board room meeting of a big-shot company. The boss’s head is boiling like a tea-kettle. He’s expecting his employees to give some suggestions.

Wait. Wait. What’s wrong in this you ask ? Well, keep listening.

One of the employees stands up and says, “Sir, I think we need to _diversify_”. At this, the boss goes all X-( and shouts, “Sit down”. To this, another employee, the “What’s the prograaaaam” guy from the Lays Ad flaunts his Samsung slider phone and repeats the same dialogue, “Sir, I think we need to _diversify_” and boom!, the boss is all smiles :|

Wtf ? This is the advertisement ? Fresher’s at the Media college could come up with a better concept.

So here’s FiftyPaise to those stated above ? Something sensible, please

So, here we have India’s most “sensational” ( a channel who tries to create sensations from petty issues ) news channel, broadcasting something really shocking, if tis video is to be believed.

The video shows a certain suspect in the State of Uttar Pradesh, who is injured and is trying to surrender with his hands up in the air. You can hear him shout “I want to surrender, I wish to surrender

At this, you hear some kind of commotion among to police personnel, with someone clearly saying “Do we have to shoot/kill him”, someone else saying “Lets kill/shoot him” while someone says, “Lets kill the bastard”

As the man walks forward with his hands up, clearly trying to surrender, the police, after everyone decides unanimously, open fire on the man. Scared, he tries to run back. Its now, when one of the cop opens fire with an SMG while the man dissapears behind a wall. He was found dead a few meters away.

Now, the news channel reports that the video is around 15 months old. WTF ? 15-months old and there has been NO enquiry into this ? The channel interviewed a certain Deputy General of Police, who said that he thinks that the video “Might be forged or morphed” :| ( Yeh, it was actually someone else, they morphed this guys face over the video. L-) )

Now, someone from the National Human Rights commission has come forward that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and that the cops may even charged with murder.

Oh well, what has the law come to.

So here’s fifty paise to every single cop who fired. Go buy some extra bullets and shove it up your you-know-what

OK. Seriously. I am furious.

What is a news channel for ? Reporting News ? To make the masses aware of something that has happened ? Seriously ?

HELL NO. Atleast some of the news channels don’t think so.

Has the standard fallen so much ? Has the Indian news media degraded so much ?

Fsck man. They show any freaking things to make a headline.

Look at India TV. Its a channel run by the famous guy Rajat Kapoor. And what are they showing ?

The witch who wants Onions

WTF ? That’s their “Special Report” ?

Apparently, the popular social networking site Orkut has gained so much importance in everybody’s lives that some people have started referring Orkut profiles to gather some information about that person. I mean, WTF ?

Todays MM carried this article about a girl who was found murdered in a hotel room. Apparently, she checked in with a guy recognized as “Manish Thakur”. Now, the newspaper carries the following lines in the article.

Interestingly, there is a Manish Thakur listed among Koushambi’s friends on Orkut. And this what she has to say about him: “Well, what to say about this sportive guy…he is really caring and loving guy…He is amazing, awesome and friendly. I need not describe him as anyone close to him must surely be aware of his abilities. He is an all-rounder..Be it in the field of studies, sports or music. He is a champ…Don’t u think so???”

Manish Thakur’s profile on Orkut opens with: “Hi, this is Manish here. hope u will find it interesting with me. all the best. only good friends are allowed, thankx…”

He gives his age as 28 and says he is on Orkut for friends, activity partners and business networking. In the space for residential address, he mentions two cities — Kolkata and Kochi.

So Orkut is a source of reference now ? WTF ? So if I make a profile on Orkut as a girl, I become a Girl ?

:| :|

Here’s Fifty Paise to the paper. Please print something sensible.

So we have seen a lot of work being done to our roads in the past. Big machines are brought in, wide holes are made, the earth is dug up, shops and houses are demolished and road-side temples are brought down amongst much uproar.

I recently happened to realise that my favourite chinese joint, Uncles Kitchen was demolished to make way for a wider road near Mith Chowki, some 2-3 kilometres from where I stay. Now, although it has found a new ( temporary ) home just 100 metres away, I am pretty confident it wont do as much business here, as the old place.

Now, even if the government puts thousands of Rupees into road-widening ( and a million more into their own pockets ) it makes no sense. We have all seen, that most of the wide roads, no matter how wide they are, are only used to park vehicles, used as a bay-area for trucks or tempos, used for washing auto-rickshaws or taxis, used to sell vegetables and fruits, or used to build hutments. There are numerous roads that I have seen that have gone through all this. There is one road where an entire lane has been occupied by shanties after it was widened and in the peak traffic hours, there are kids that play outside and stage a hazard to themselves and to the motorists. Not only this, but these people put up tables or anything that they can find to block traffic so that it doesn’t come close to their house. :-w

Then there are roads which have lanes used only for the sole purpose of washing auto-rickshaws and taxis. This thing not only uses up the lane space, but also leaves the road splashed with water and oily substances. Eeekss.

Then there are the usual cases where roads are encroached upon hawkers who sell Vegetables, season fruits and other such goods.

The thing to notice here is, neither the government, the civic authrities, nor the police pay any attention to this. Nothing is done to curb this. As soon as a road is widened, it is encroached upon.

So here’s fifty paise to everyone who is responsible for this. Stop wasting the people’s money.

In the changing/Trial rooms of all Shoppers Stop outlets in the city.

Yes, I was at one of the shopper stop outlets today ( shopping for some formal shirts for my upcoming last-year board practicals ) when I saw Mr. Roshan.

What I saw was, Mr. Hrithik Roshan, sitting on chair, with a Remote in his hand, watching with BIG ROUND eyes.  And the poster, in big bold words read, ” I’m watching you ” :-w

The above posters are  advrts of TATA Sky put up in all Shopper Stop outlets. In the Trial rooms.

So, what are they trying to convey ?

How about there’s a poster in his bathroom,Lau Prasad Yadav “watching” him?

Oh well,

Here’s Fifty Paise to the ad agency or the uncreative minds behind this. Find a better place.
